Comment on Alexander Montgomery 1740-1840 by Nancy Crutchley

I tend to lean to Kay’s account. However, I have a question and a comment. If the young Alexander and John Montgomery were in Boonesborough in 1775, did they return home to enlist in 1777? My comment comes from a Montgomery/Cole ( Martha Walker and Alexander Montgomery’s line) ancestor who stated that a trait of the Montgomerys is that they had black hair. The Alexander Montgomery who was killed while with Kenton (according to Eckert) had sandy blonde hair. …just a comment.
