Beverly (Walters ) Hickman Kitts, I have a question about your post that mentions Adkins and Vardemon Collins. I am a direct Adkins descendant through Nancy Anne Adkins who married John Witcher and who died in what is now Grainger County, Tennessee. I also have connections to Vardemon Collins that I cannot figure out. I always thought it was through my Gibson line. Vardemon Collins married Margaret “Spanish Peggy” Gibson who was brother of “Buck” Gibson. I know this is an Adkins blog, but I am really curious how the Adkins are associated with Vardy Collins.
