This is fascinating and so hard to find all of the pieces. In my line there are four Alex Montgomery’s that I descend from. Alex 1 and 2 were at Moore’s fort with Daniel Boone and then Alex 2 along with his brother John were at Fort Boonesborough. I believe Alex 3 may have fought at Battle of Kings Mountain and Alex IV served for six months in the 4th regiment of Virginia but was sometimes listed by his middle name of Sanders.
