Thank you for posting this recipe. My mom has made these pickles for years. However, due to the labor, she has not been able to make them for the past 5 years. This year, my sister and I will be taking over and making them. Could be the last year on the farm and we want to have her advise us on how she has made these pickles over the years. Only difference with our recipe is that she uses 1 quart of vinegar, plus 1 pint of water in final stage. She also adds green food coloring: always deep, green-colored!
