Hello Sandra, I am a direct descendent of Charity and Randolph (they were first cousins that married), they are my 5th great grandparents. Charity’s mother is (Mary) BlueSky Cornstalk who was the daughter of Chief Cornstalk that led the Shawnee Nation and was murdered at Point Pleasant VA. Google it and it will give you lots of information. During that time period the Dawes Rolls did not exist and the Shawnee never had their own rolls. the Cherokee allowed the Shawnee to sign up on their rolls which was many years later. Today’s Shawnee Tribe will not accept any blood relatives unless you carry 1/8 blood. They go By the US Federal Government laws. I am currently looking into another Shawnee Tribe in NC that allows direct descendants regardless of the 1/8 blood requirement. They do not follow the governments rules so I’m looking forward to checking them out.
