Hey:) Joe Reed is my great grandfather.I remember him well, though I was seven years old when he died. My great grandmother Virginia “Jennie” was blind. My father said he used to sit by her bedside and read the Bible to her and she could smell him smoking a pipe though she couldnt see her nose worked LOL. My grandpa was a gentleman. In the eighties,he still thought you could get a whole grocery cart full for $5. A sweetheart. On Easter,he showed me where all the eggs were hidden. I remember him laughing as all the other kids went hunting and I went gathering…Haha. Thanks so much for sharing. I stumbled across this as I am searching for my Native heritage/Cherokee…You seem to be good at this,feel free to help.LOL.
