Comment on Monday Vivre by Everett Johnson

Updating my 11 Feb 2011 posting re John Johnson and Rosanna Monroe Adkins –

Mark Holloman and I have been working the autosomal DNA angle and he identified an Elizabeth Bowman (born 1783 in Washington, MD, died abt 1855 in Campbell Co, Tenn) as John Johnson’s b1806 mother. I found a marriage record to a William Johnson (the mysterious “Billy”?) from Greene Tennessee dated 8 Sep 1800. They appear to be listed in the 1850 US Census for the 17th Subdivision in the County of Campbell on page 329 lines 36 & 37. Their apparent son James b1816, wife Eliza b1828 and children are listed right below them starting on line 38 and continuing on the the next page.

We still haven’t found birth records for John Johnson or his siblings and don’t know anything about his father and his ancestors except some theories. Maybe we’ll get another clue from the DNA side. Please post if you find anything – triangulation may help, although we’re pushing the limits of autosomal matching. As a direct male descendant of John Johnson, I took the FTDNA Y-67 DNA test. Nothing has popped up on a first quick pass with the results, so some more work is in order (need to learn more too).

Thanks to Sheila and all who contribute to this site to help us Adkins descendants.
