I find a tremendous amount of misinformation on this site. My great grandmother was Cynthia Anne Gatliff Adkins, sister of Dr. Ancil Gatliff. Her two oldest sons were Ed and Charles (my grandfather married to Maretta Meadors). John Speed, Cynthia’s father had re-inherited James and Cynthia years before they went to Oklahoma where James immediately died in 1907. I never heard that Dr. Ancil Gatliff visited the family in Okla. because he had kicked my grandfather out of his life for being drunk on a job he had given him at one of his coal mines.
