Comment on Martin Fugate 1725-1803 by Shirl Fee

I descend from Colbert Fugate (and Hannah Tate) by his daughter, Lydia Druscilla Melpha Carter, who is mentioned in Colbert’s Will. I would really like to know, definitively, who Colbert’s parents were. I read in some places that John was his father and other places that Martin Fugate (1727-1803) was his father. Does anyone know if Martin Fugate fought in the military as his brothers seem to have? I would like to document him for DAR, if he did.
