Hi Kay, I share your interest with the FTDNA results of kits numbers 52211, 294196, 34098, 34870. My Kit number is 175791. I am a member of the Montgomery Genealogy Facebook page. A member of the group, Roscoe Montgomery, found an application for land, of a daughter of John Montgomery, 1764-1845, who died in Peoria, Illinois, I believe. On the document, she names John’s children, & the grandchildren of two of these children. Alexander, who married Barbara Harris, had the following children: Elizabeth, Susannah, Nathaniel, John, Samuel Walker, William, Jane & Margarit. The other grandchildren were Elizabeth, Sarah, James, John, Margaret & Martha. These latter grandchildren were children of Jane Montgomery Poplett. My ggg-grandfather, Nathan Montgomery, was born in 1812/3, in what is now West Virginia. DNA results have indicated that I am related to this line. I believe that, my Nathan, is the same person as the Nathaniel, named on the document. Nathan’s 1st born was named Alexander, &, was born in Indiana, about 1832. Nathan, shortly afterwards, moved to Alabama, where his 2nd son, Andrew Jackson, was born, as were his other children, including my gg-grandpa John Walker Montgomery. It is believed that, Nathan moved to Alabama with an Andrew Nelso, who fought at the battle of Guilford Courthouse, where John Montgomery, also fought. Anyway, I suggested to Lou Sherbourne to test I1-F2642, to see if she shared that SNP with me. He did, &, his results came back positive. I know very little about the interpretations of my results, but, several other DNA “experts”, say that I belong to this same group, too. I would appreciate any thoughts, &, hopefully be able to share information. Hope to hear from you soon.
