Here’s a take on The Nancy Carter’s. Since Laurel, and Rockcastle Co.’s is or was a pretty rural area, what’s the chances Nancy is related to the country music family Mother Mabele and June Carter Cash? I do believe they were of Cherokee descent, and they are from that area.
