Comment on Chief Cornstalk: Shawnee Lineage by Theresa Caparco for Lawrence Clark

Hello to all, wishing all a safe holiday this Memorial Day weekend.
This is a reply to Sarah Atkins.
Remember I said DNA is a fickle thing.
Well amongst all geneasists, DNA is only inherited from a persons 5th great. So most only inherit from their 5th great grandparents. Sarah, you’ve tested a 6th great from Charity that’s why you have these type of results.
Now that being said, 99.99% will only inherit from their 5th great, but like everything else in life there is also a 00.01% anomaly where a 6th great can inherit further back although it is extremely rare.
DNA must be done on individuals no more than 5 generations out from the person you are trying to link to.
What we need is a 5th descendant from Littleberry Adkins and compare those to another 5th descendant from say Chloe Etta Adkins line ( my sons line) that’s why we are having Larry Clark tested, he being a 5th and my sons father.
Comparisons between these two lines would be definitive as to the Native issue at hand.
It was a good try Sarah Atkins, but just not close enough to be able to pick up any Native DNA.
I wish you all well.

If Cornstalk was 100% NA and there is some question about that, then if Larry Clark is related to him, and no other Native American contributions from any one else in Larry’s tree then Larry would be about.. 50%,25%,12.5%,6.25%,3.125%, 1.625 Larry would be about 1.625% native if he is related to Cornstalk and no other natives and Cornstalk was 100% Native which he may have not been.. Don’t expect to much from a DNA test. DNA is not inherited in exact proportions. Only possible way to determine a relationship to the Cornstalk family is to compare your DNA with a known relative of Cornstalk. Even then it would be a small match, being so far back… Cornstalk had many wives, native and not native, trying to find a connection through Haplotypes with Cornstalk is a waste of time in my opinion…

This is in response to John C. Cheek.
Agreed as to % of Native DNA for Larry Clark. However, this test may show Native DNA for him, there is no other Native involvement in Larry Clark’s ancestors, I and Orma have done a thorough accounting of all ancestors.
That being of Holland, Scotland, England and Welsh ancestors.
However, the test will link other family members across the country who match his profile and will show same dna markers as him, all I hope will lead us to a more recent descendant than Larry.
But still remains at the end of the day it is still not your call to make and is his time and money spent.
With a hopeful positive Native DNA marker to be had from it all, which will leave a definite link to Bluesky & C. Cornstalk. At least for this end of Adkins and Clark lineage lines.
All be safe, healthy and wise.

I have Adkins cousins who have Cornstalk in there trees, as well as Ailstocks and Wileys… I tested with 23 and me and AncestryDNA… Using that RAW Data I uploaded it to Gedmatch which has many tools for analyzing your DNA. My haplogroups are all European. I have like 2 to 4 percent NA DNA depending on the Model used and there are many on Gedmatch.. I have many Native Cousins… I match Shawnee Cousins on the Native American sections of their DNA.. Good Luck in your search!!

Is there anyone out there that now knows what Cornstalk’s “Y” dna is or what his and his Mother’s mtDNA haplogroup is?
If I recall he was born possibly in Pennsylvania?
As always thanks.

Thru DAR, I know Israel Friend is my x…grandfather. I found great pride when I visited apt Pleasant n would love to be a part of Cornstock Hertiage, but without knowledge of Sarah Catherine Bokavar, that is not going to happen and that is fine because I still am very proud of all our forefathers. Does anyone know why there is so little information about Sarah Bokavar? What does the DNA say about Their children’s descendants? My mom, at 96, can’t understand why I can’t find any info on her. Thank you

Hello Rebekah, You are too far out from the person you are trying to connect to. One needs to be 5 generations or less to show possible NA bloodlines.
Please try to test your parent or better, a grandparent or both who are related to this line of NA.

I am searching for information on a descendant of Ezekiel Craft born 1762 and died 1843 (Archelous’s Brother) his son was Ezekiel Jr born 1800 and died 1870, and continues to Alexander L Craft born 1825 and died 1896, his son was John Pinkney Craft 1868-1942, then Sidney Craft 1912-1969 then to his son James Gordon Craft 1937 and still living. I am searching for information on Sidneys first wife Mae Alice Davis which is whom I am trying to gain additional information on. my dad tells me that her and my grandfather were married a little over 4-5 yrs, after their divorce she was dating a man named Clarence Hunt, which I also can not find, not sure if he was a descendant of Rosa Hunt that married John Pinkney (I was hoping someone here could help me out with information they might have on this part of my family or point me in the direction where I might contact someone that maybe able to help. Please feel free to email me Polocksgal@yahoo.com and or send my request to someone that you know might have information. I am trying to solve this puzzle before the unfortunate happens with my daddy. if you can help I would greatly appreciate hearing from you, Thank you Victoria (Craft) Ingram

Dear Theresa,

I’ll need more than a few days to look into his lineage, since it’s not on my tree. John Elijah Adkins & Sarah Francis Zachery Adkins are buried http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=27491755 posted photo by Peggy Yarbough, a quick internet search shows that she has been on this search for several years. You should contact her, if you haven’t already, to see what all she has on the family. I do see where she has posted her work at many different websites & a bible is referred to at one. A Family bible reference is promising. I’ll see what I can find referenced to him.

Thanks as always,
Sheila Jean Adkins Metcalf

@Kevin – I am researching the lineage of William Adkins and Hannah Rader. If you look in the census for 1850-1880 you will find that he remained in Clay County all those years. His wife passed away in 1868 (I found her death record) and do not find him in the 1890 census so would guess that he passed away in that 10 year span. Would love to compare notes. You can email me at Tammy.L.Smith@Live.com

Hi there!

I’ve been doing quite a bit of research lately on my family ties and keep coming back to the Jacob Harley Earl of Oxford and Mary Blue Cornstalk lineage. What I know that is somewhat confirmed is my grandmother, Georgia Adkins Garnett’s great grandfather(?) is Perry Green Adkins. She did tell me her family came over from England and were farmers in West Virginia(Wayne County and surrounding areas) and I’ve been told about Native American history on her side of the family. Any help would be great, thanks!

Desmond Kendrick was the one who put the original pictures of William Vortimer Adkins III & Mary Ann Hartman online. The Danville Register and Bee did a article about “Oldest Photographs in Pittsylvania County believed to be found” in October 9, 1995. Desmond claims photography was available in Danville as early as 1840, or a year after it was invented by Louis J.M. Daguesse in France ” Kendrick’s aunt, Mamie Reynolds gave him the album. Mrs. Reynolds told Kendrick who the people are in the photographs, but she identified William Kendrick as Owen’s father. The album was given to Mrs. Reynolds by her mother. The trail leads back to Mamie’s great-grandmother, Permelia Adkins.” So if the photo album was owned by Permelia Adkins once it would have to be someone related but i’m skeptical of Desmond saying photography was available in 1840 whoever interviewed him should have gotten some proof. I did look him up on facebook he’s not too hard to find I’m not going to link his info, but if someone wants to try to get some info from him it would help a lot of people.

Prussian Diplomatics lead to my birth as the Bloodline King of Prussia and the Holy Roman Emperor. Otto Von Bismarck was a descendant of Jesus and the Roman and Holy Roman Emperors, the Bloodline Heir. I gained all their Inheritances. It’s in my Government File through Diplomatics. Cheers.

Chief Cornstalk was a mix of All Native American Races, he was the Bloodline Heir of all the First Bloodline Chief of All Tribe, including Hawaiians and the Eskimos, all the New World Races. Otto Von Bismarck was the Bloodline Heir of all the First Bloodline Chiefs of all the Old World Races, he was a mix of them all. That leaves me as a mix of All Races, including those that are Extinct. I’m the Direct Descendant of all the World’s First Bloodline Chiefs of All Races, the Heir. All Bloodlines mixed into one Leader.

He was not just Shawnee, he was of All Tribes. That’s commonly mistaken. Some list him as Pawnee. He was the Chief of the entire Cherokee Nation. He was the Main Chief of All Native Americans. Truth by Actual Lineage. He used to lead the Eskimos to eat the Blackfeet Indians, he was a bit Cannibalistic. He was Feared by Many and Worshipped as a God. He Decided.

If you ever want to know your Actual Ancestry, the Clerk of Courts holds those Records. It’s in your Diplomatic History in you Government File, it’s Public Information. They know who you are. They’re Proven Truths, not guesswork. That should help out a lot. A lot of people don’t know that, but Clerk of Courts hold all Diplomatic Records and Public Information. That’s the best way to figure out any Family History, even Adopted People can find their Family History and Stories from there. It’s on Record.
